Microsoft Windows 8 is the next incarnaiton of the Microsoft Windows Operating System, succeeding the Windows 7 Operating System. Microsoft Windows 8 is part of the Windows NT family of Operating System and featured a complete overhaul in the typical design and interface of Windows Explorer. Microsoft Windows 8 was created to appeal to the mobile computing crowd and the interface of Microsoft Windows 8, even when used on a desktop PC, looks very much like an Operating System on a mobile device.
Microsoft Windows 8 was created with to optimize the “touch” experience, meaning that it works quickly and flawlessly with mobile computing devices and with touchscreen laptops and computers. Microsoft Windows 8 also includes a variety of security updates, firmware updates and more. It is an enhanced Operating System that comes with the common improvements that you would expect, such as an increase in speed, reliability and performance, but because os its complete interface overhaul, the release of Microsoft Windows 8 was met with widespread criticism. Microsoft Windows 8.1, the first major update to the Windows 8 OS, has already been released.
