An XLSM file is a macro-enabled spreadsheet that has been created using the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program. Excel is part of the Microsoft Office suite, which also includes Word and PowerPoint.
In the later versions of Excel, XLSM files become XLSX files but are still supported. Excel does not execute macros in XLSX, they must saved as XLSM files first.
